Donald Miller has been a favorite author of mine ever since I read Blue Like Jazz so it was a great surprise to see him pray at the Democratic National Convention last night. Regardless of your political leanings, his prayer was a great example for us all. You can watch the whole thing below:

Great prayer for reading from a tele-prompter and not bowing his head in reverance! Very resemblent to Catholicism. I always thought that prayer was a conversation with God not a show for an audience.
Whether read from a tele-prompter or not the prayer has significant meaning. I pray that someone at that convention and all those who are seeing it online will take something from it. I have always been taught that a prayer is a prayer no matter how small or big it is. In my experience in large groups I tend to clam up but somehow God gives me the words He wants or needs spoken. God does work in ways we cannot comprehend for reasons we do not know.
